Locus is Die Wolke art group and Vitruvian Thing’s initiative for the promotion of videodance and experimental cinema by Thessaloniki-based creators. Unlike a festival, the screening nights have no fixed theme; instead, the programme is shaped by whatever gets submitted each season, as a way of gauging local creative tendencies.
Locus is open to dance films and experimental shorts by directors, cinematographers, choreographers, and dancers, whether established or emerging, as long as they have some connection to Thessaloniki. Submissions are typically capped around 15 minutes and drawn from videodance, cinedance, video art, and experimental animation, work made specifically for the screen rather than for narrative cinema, music videos, or documentation of a live performance.
