February 2018, at Vitruvian Thing
Locus, Die Wolke art group and Vitruvian Thing‘s initiative for the promotion of works from the videodance and experimental cinema genres by Thessaloniki creators, returns on February 2018 and is currently accepting submissions.
Like past seasons, the theme of the screening sessions is determined by the submissions themselves, in an effort to gauge local creative tendencies. The non-festivalic screening event is open to dance films and experimental cinema shorts that were recently created by directors and cinematographers, choreographers and dancers, established and upcoming experimentalists of the city of Thessaloniki, to partake in the first event of its kind, Locus 18|a.
Deadline: 12 January 2018
Maximum duration: 15 minutes (not a very hard rule)
Genres accepted: videodance/cinedance, video art, experimental films, animations.
Locus’ area of focus does not include narrative cinema, music videos, or works not made specifically for video.
Projection format: ProRes 422, DNxHD, or h264 at 25Mbps or more, 1080p or 720p, stereo sound.
It is preferred that films are not publicly available on the internet. Creators must have some link to the city of Thessaloniki (e.g. be living or working there, or be originally from there).
Screenings will take place in February over one or two weekends at Vitruvian Thing, for a total of 4 to 10 screenings of the entire programme, depending on demand.
